Martha Lucía Villafañe is one of those art icons in Medellín and Antioquia. She is the director of Juan del Corral museum since 2008, and she has been honored because of the work that she has been done there. People says that there’s not a week without a concert or a cultural activity in the museum.
She was born on Ronaldillo, where she found her inspiration on her uncle, Carlos Villafañe, who was an incredible poet, and chronicler.
She is very specialized on Sculptural Drawing in Bent and Rusty Iron Plate and her art is inspired on women and social problems.

Time ago, she put one of her masterpieces on the Medicine Faculty of Universidad de Antioquia. The work is called Vilma Pedrahíta Echeverry, who was the first woman to get graduated from medicine in Colombia. Vilma, also did a subspecialization on pediatric nephrology.

One of the most incredible things about Martha is that she cares about people, animals and all the problems that we live today on our country. She has been supporting big campaigns about Animals, and about the care of water in Colombia.
All those things make Martha a big artist.
